I created this story by choosing an artists work that I liked. I chose a variety of images to create the basis of my story and then dragged them on to a blank page. I then thought up a story adding the words to the page. Each page contained a sentence that rhymed with the next.
StoryBird is a program that can be used in school, throughout the curriculum. This story presents many cross curricular links including literacy as well as PSCHE due to the message it portrays ‘It’s Good to be Different’. This gives children the confidence that it is good to be different and that everyone is different in their own way. So the message of the story was to promote individuality increasing children’s confidence and self esteem.
Children can create their own stories using this technology for any topic or subject. This will engage children as it is something different, they will have more fun making their own story on StoryBird rather than writing one out.
